Thanks Regina!

When we go on our little business trips for Artrocks, we always try to enjoy the whole adventure...from start to finish! Since we are busy from morning till night during the show, we took an extra day off to do a few things.
Here are some pictures of the drive, the show, a visit to the MacKenzie Art Gallery and Old George's near Whitewold, Saskatchewan!
Thanks for a great show Regina!

Come on Down to the Downs!

A lot goes on before the doors open! Yesterday was the day that crafters set up their tables at Scattered Seeds. The venue has changed this year (not far - the Exhibition Stadium at Assiniboia Downs) and is roomy and bright!

Here is a BEFORE shot of setting up:

And AFTER!

Below are my new bookmarks that I am so excited about!

Hope to see you there!

Many Thanks

*
Hi everybody!
*
The last few days have been busy. I've been off showing my art at a few different venues!
My first stop was at Global Village Artifacts and Accents in Stonewall. What a beautiful store and great people.
*
*
Then it was away to Fort Whyte Alive for the Manitoba Crafts Museum and Library Artisans Sale. I always feel reconnected to nature after being out at Fort Whyte.
*
I will always remember the first time I was in this sale, two years ago. As we drove up to the building early in the morning, we were amazed to see a dozen deer lazing in the parking lot! They musn't have been too disturbed, because as we slowly drove past their little gathering, they simply moved over to the left and observed us unpack our wares.
Now that doesn't happen every craft sale!
*
Well, no deers this year, but I was glad to see many geese. I was happy to be walking closely among a score of the creatures until I observed one of the many signs that warned that the geese could be very aggessive this time of year! When I phoned my son, he reassured me by saying it reminded him of Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds". Well, I sure felt better then.

Thanks to all my great customers for all the wonderful conversations.
*
Check back on Wednesday for the launch of my new Etsy shop(pe)!

How It's Made - ArtRocks Edition!

*Hi everyone! Today I'm going to show you all the work that goes into creating an Inspired Stone. It was really interesting to document the process--quite an insightful experience. I hope you enjoy it!
*
Step 1: The rocks are chosen and washed.
*
^
Step 2: The stones are dried and the design is decided upon.
*
*
Step 3: I begin to pencil in the design.
*
*
Step 4: I fill in the text and outline the drawing. I love this part!
*
*
Step 5: The colour is added!
*
*
At this point, I may leave the rock for a few days while I am doing other work so as to decide if it is complete. Finally, the Inspired Stone is signed and double-glazed. Done!
*
Talk to you next week when I hope to share some inspiration and smiles! :)
I'm looking forward to seeing some of you this coming weekend at Fort Whyte Alive!
